Reed Hatch, our branch manager in Anchorage, is one of the outstanding people at Opti serving our candidates and clients. He explains what makes Opti such an exceptional place to work.

What is your favorite part about working for Opti Staffing?

My favorite part of working for Opti Staffing is the perfect mix of independence and support. At Opti Staffing we are encouraged to find our own paths to success, while also being trained on proven methods. Additionally, there is always someone who is eager to help in any way possible, even if they are just offering a different viewpoint on the issue.

Do you have a favorite Opti tradition you could highlight?

At Opti there are a ton of traditions, but my favorite would have to be our Month-End Awards. Every month, we get together to celebrate any victories we’ve had in the month. Awards are given out based on several criteria including sales and peer-voting. We get to congratulate each other and be congratulated every single month.

What makes Opti unique?

When determining what makes Opti unique, the list goes on and on. There is no other place like Opti to work for or with. Working for Opti means you get to be extremely successful very quickly, and you get to work in an environment that feels like recess most days. If you are working with Opti, you’ll soon realize that the way we do business is as if we were working with our best friends. If you’re a candidate, you can expect honest transparency and a recruiter who will put your best interests to the front of their mind when looking at openings. If you’re a company, you can expect your recruiter to personally visit your workplace, personally meet with any potential candidates, and help consult with you if there is something that could make the process easier.

Tell us about your favorite moment helping an Opti client or candidate.

When I was a recruiter I had a client who needed someone to help out for an extended amount of time in their HR department. The client explained to me that the perfect person would have extensive experience in human resources. When it came time to present potential candidates, I sent two candidates that had worked in HR, and then I called my client and said, “Listen, I have one other candidate for you, but I can’t show you her resume, because if I do, you won’t even interview her.”
The candidate I was talking about had only done one thing in her past, and that was refueling jet planes while she was in the military. But she was the smartest, most ambitious candidate I had ever met. My client trusted me and met with her. She was offered the position on the spot, and I received a thank you call from the client. I thanked her for looking at the candidate behind the resume.

What does your perfect day look like?

A perfect day would involve having a killer day at work, then a big event with my family in the evening. I have three young children so going to a splash park or a park in the summer are my versions of happiness.

A Hollywood producer is making a movie about your life – who would be your pick to play the role of you?

I would pick Ryan Reynolds to play the role of me in a movie. Has nothing to do with looks, although he and I could be twins obviously. Rather, he seems to have the same ‘laugh at the world’ sense of humor as me.

What was your first job?

My first job was washing dishes at a small Spanish restaurant in my home town of El Rancho. I learned what hard work is and a little bit of Spanish too.

What is the one word you would use to describe Opti Staffing?

The one word I would use to describe Opti Staffing would be ‘Driven’. This place is always evolving, always pushing to get better, and always moving forward. We never get complacent, we never get bored, and every day is always different.
At Opti, we look beyond the resume and the job description, because making a good hire is about more than just a matching skill set. It’s about personality and culture fit, business perspectives, work ethic, management style, long-term company and career goals and more. We see the big picture. Contact us today.
