In this Real Success blog we introduce you to Jeff Brave, our skilled trades recruiter based in Tacoma, Washington. He talks about his best memories with Opti and why he loves life as an Opti employee.
1. What is your favorite part about working for Opti Staffing?
Being in a position to positive change people’s lives and the fast-paced work environment.
2. Do you have a favorite Opti tradition you could highlight?
My favorite tradition is when we are able to meet with the other Opti offices whether at the Christmas party, quarterly kick-offs, or annual meetings, sharing stories and collaborating on strategies and techniques.
3. What makes Opti unique?
The values that we take pride in. From our internal employees, offices, candidates, etc. We are a large family that truly believes that we have the best to offer.
4. Tell us about your favorite moment helping an Opti client or candidate.
I learned of a large company that was expanding to Tacoma and just bought a facility to produce massive amounts of cartons. I went on the PR during their first week in the facility. Before any machinery was set up, they had makeshift chairs and desks set up, and weeds still growing in the parking lot. They had a large backing and within two months we have filled up their facility with literally some of the best candidates we have met over the last few years – millwrights, maintenance techs and machine operators.
5. What does your perfect day look like?
I come in to the office, have signed terms in my email, 3-5 interviews going out, and Jamal brought in extra food for lunch!
6. A Hollywood producer is making a movie about your life – who would be your pick to play the role of you?
Vince Vaughn for sure.
7. What was your first job?
Washing dishes for a small diner when I was 16. I didn’t even want to work then but my two best friends worked there and I had nothing to do when they were at work, so I started working there with them.
8. What is the one word you would use to describe Opti Staffing?
Passionate.
