Michael J. Houston CPC, CTS, Chief Marketing Officer

A 20+ year veteran of the recruiting industry, Michael founded Opti Staffing Group with his partners 14 years ago.  He found this business the way many people in the industry did…by accident.  Michael fell in love with this business because of the impact it makes on people’s lives and in the goals and objectives of the businesses served. His goal is to change the recruitment landscape so that everyone can understand working with a good ethical recruiter and developing a partnership, whether as an individual or business entity, can prove to be one of the most valuable resources at your disposal.  Our success is determined by your success.

Ron Hansen CPC, CTS, Chief Operations Officer

Ron was recruited into the staffing world in 1992. Originally hired as a Light Industrial Staffing Specialist for Adams and Associates in their N.E. Portland Office. Ron quickly found success in the staffing industry and was asked to move to Bellevue, Washington to manage the temporary division for Adams. Soon after moving to Washington, Ron tackled the task of managing  the direct hire division for the Seattle Branch and the temporary division for Bellevue. In 1994, Ron earned the designation Certified Temporary Staffing Specialist ( C.T.S.). In 1997, Ron was promoted to Regional Manager and oversaw the Washington and Alaska territories. This was the same year that he earned the designation Certified Personnel Consultant (C.P.C.). Then in 1999, Ron teamed up with the Avonly Lokan Smith and Mike Houston and founded Opti Staffing Group. Since then the three have worked in every capacity within the company and have grown Opti Staffing to six (6) locations and one of the leading regional firms in the Pacific Northwest.

Nathan Houston CPC, CTS, Branch Manager, Lake Oswego

President Club, 2015 Inductee

I have been with Opti now for roughly 5 years, and over my time with the company I have seen quite a bit. That being said, I would have to say the one thing that has continually stood out to me is the people. What I mean by “people” is the leaders within our organization whose passion for what we do is contagious, my coworkers (fellow managers, recruiters, researchers, admins…etc.), the clients, and our candidates. We all have the opportunity impact people’s lives positively on a daily basis, and that is because we treat people like people, not a pay check or a number. That is something our owners put a huge emphasis on, does changing the landscape of the staffing industry sounds familiar to anyone??? It should and there is good reason for that, we are all a part of that mission and it fuels my fire and passion for our business on a daily basis.

Greg Spunt CPC, CTS, Branch Manager, NE Portland

In September 2015, he took the reins of Opti’s brand new Vancouver location, and was recently transferred to take over management in our Portland branch.

“Having experienced life as a debt collector, student, touring musician, and face to face fundraiser,  my background lends itself to adaptability and being able to think on my feet. Opti’s culture and environment has allowed me to use my natural and learned abilities, while helping me to cultivate phenomenal relationships with both clients and candidates. I’ve learned a ton of new things from all of the fantastic people I’ve worked with so far, and my goal is simple: get better every day, even if it’s just by a little. Opti’s culture of inclusion, transparency, and teamwork is the perfect fit for me, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the crew. Here’s to great things in the rest of 2016 and beyond!”

Each day is an adventure, and I take pride in being able to contribute to a greater good that creates such a positive change for others.
